I’ve been honored to hold some meaningful leadership roles.
IDEO
I was at IDEO from 2000-2007. What an amazing company!
I led a group of 40 designers, researchers and engineers at IDEO’s HQ in Palo Alto. This involved finding, hiring, and mentoring staff, bringing together teams, leading projects, and fostering client relationships and business development.
I also helped develop new design processes and tools, and created a “cultural/knowledge exchange” program with companies like Google and Pixar.
Daylight
Wanting to get back to a smaller, more hands-on role, I co-founded Daylight in 2007.
We started as three guys around a kitchen table, but by the time I exited Daylight in 2016, we had evolved it into a global consultancy (although on a much smaller scale than IDEO) with a unique, vibrant culture and offices in San Francisco, Seoul, and Munich.
Daylight continues to thrive and do great work, so if you need a mid-sized design firm, give them serious consideration.
